About the Role
Wilton Bright has been exclusively retained by a leading institution in the financial sector to recruit a Senior Risk Actuary who will play a critical role in shaping enterprise-level risk strategy.
This position is ideal for an experienced actuary who is ready to move beyond technical modelling into a high-impact, strategic function. You will act as a key link between actuarial analysis, risk leadership, and Board-level decision-making — helping the organisation translate complexity into clarity.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of advanced risk models (regulatory and economic capital)
- Own and enhance ORSA processes, capital projections and stress-testing frameworks
- Design and implement risk metrics (KRI/KPIs) to monitor exposure and resilience
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Finance, ESG and Executive Strategy teams
- Deliver clear insights to senior stakeholders and Board Committees
- Contribute to the strategic integration of risk into business planning and product design
Profile & Background
- Qualified actuary (IA|BE, IFoA, DAV or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance or consulting (risk focus)
- Solid understanding of Solvency II, ORSA, ESG risk, and IFRS 17
- Experience with scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk aggregation
- Strong communication skills – ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
- Ambition to grow into a leadership role (e.g., Head of Risk or future CRO)
Why Apply?
This is more than an actuarial role — it’s a stepping stone toward strategic influence.
You’ll be part of a forward-thinking organisation that views actuarial science as a core driver of governance and growth, not just compliance.
You’ll enjoy:
- High visibility within the executive and board ecosystem
- Broad exposure to multi-dimensional risk topics
- A leadership track in a respected and regulated environment
- A compensation package reflective of your impact and expertise
